Responses to yesterday's
rant posted on yesterday's rant page. You guys
rock. I've been thinking that the Buffy Squatters should have little identifying
badges, you know? Proclaiming: 'I STILL LOVE JOSS AND I'M PROUD!'
So, uhm. Take one of these
if you so wish.
MMM Angel -Inspired by the
Fates on Angel and their unwavering affection for the big, occasinally
stupid stud.
Still Buff!- Inspired by
the girl-hero who is as much girl as hero.

See? This is why I
don't get deep into fandom. Are people really screaming over "Normal
Again", that utterly FANTASTIC episode? I don't get it, and maybe
it's because I started watching in S4, and only saw the older stuff all
out-of-order from my friend's tapes, and there is still a whole section
of the Faith arc that I've not seen (I know! Me! I know!),
but I certainly don't revere S1-3 as "the best". Can we say "Puppet
Show"?
It sounds like what happens
in any fandom for a show that's been around. Hell, I saw it in L&C,
and that show was only on for four years. The series takes a new
direction (or, as in the case of Buffy, a deeper direction) and people
jump ship, and lament that it's lost that something that they can't put
into words, but it was great, and whatever, but they still watch.
Whatever - grow the fuck up. Shows grow, and if it's a well-written
show, the characters grow and change. And wouldn't it be boring if
it was any other way? The Big Bads the last two years weren't terrible,
but they weren't fabulous - but this year's Big Bad is marvelous.
Buffy's detachment and emotional instability (yes, the two can co-exist)is
a worse enemy than the Scoobs have ever faced, and I for one am holding
my breath until the next episode.
(And yeah, I watch SV, but
is it a great show? Hell no. Acting? Barely there, (Tom
Welling, I'm talking to you. And you too, Kristen Kreuk.), the writing
is only just now getting out of the "oh no, meteor rocks!" crap.
I watch it because Lex is sexy as hell, and I love the slashy undertones
between Clark and him. And because my best friend is a Superman freak.
Better than Buffy? Not on Buffy's worst day.)
In other news... you rock.
That is all.

Coming tomorrow, a rant by
my ficbitch (who SHOULD BE HERE NOW GODAMNIT! *whimpers*) on When Conventional
Shippers Go Bad, or the Evils of the One True Ship. Inspired 'cause apparantly,
the list and archive Yahtzee and I run is in actuality, a thinly veiled
attempt to take over the entire C/A-ship and turn it toward the wicked
darkness that is angst fic, slash-acceptance and actual decent writing!
Damn us and our facist ways! That's just plain nuts. I mean, as Yahtzee
clearly stated on the Stranger Things Posting Board, she is way too busy
in Afghanistan, and my time has been completely swallowed by masterminding
the entire Enron debacle.
Snark
at me, I love it
